The 3 Best Camping Cots

3 min read 0 Comments

A camping cot is a type of collapsible camping bed that can really help enhance the level of comfort in many camping situations. For those wanting to elevate both their bed, and their quality of sleep while camping, a cot is a great choice! Of course, there are endless types of designs and types to fit a number of priorities such as comfort, size, ease of set-up, and portability.

As part of our glamping event business, we have been able to use and test a good amount of camping cots over the years to use in our large canvas tents. In doing so we decided to focus on Byer of Maine brand cots due to their quality and versatility which comes from over 100 years of experience in the business. Here are our top picks for camping cots we like the best (and why).

The Heritage Camping Cot

heritage cot from byer of maine

This cot from Byer of Maine combines a traditional wooden folding cot with modern construction techniques and design, made for a larger camper. This cot is built with a sturdy North American hardwood frame and is covered with a Denier polyester fabric. The Maine Heritage Cot is easy to clean. You simply remove the fabric cover and wash with a mild detergent and water. We love the ease in which this cot is assembled and how compact it folds up. And one of the main features we like about this cot is how long it is. Often with cots that are as portable as this you have to sacrifice size. With a length of 7’, this cot is great for anyone!
