Itching to make those glamping reservations, but on the hunt for a more luxurious site? Northern California is where it’s at! Glamping in Northern California allows you to explore Sierra’s towering redwoods, gorgeous ocean coastlines, and the sprawling vineyards that makeup Sonoma wine country – all while relaxing at some of the most amazing and luxurious sites.

But if you’re not sure where to start your search, Life inTents has done the work for you. Check out these truly spectacular, luxurious glamping sites in Northern California.

8 Luxury Sites for Glamping in Northern California

1. Treebones Resort | South Big Sur

Situated along the Big Sur coastline is the truly one-of-a-kind Treebones Resort. Within the resort are a handful of accommodations in which you can choose to stay, from traditional campsites to yurts to the truly unique Human Nest or Twig Hut, two hand-woven wood art installations you can sleep inside. But their Autonomous Tent collection is truly luxurious.

The Autonomous Tents are designed with a translucent tent fabric stretched across an elegant curved frame. Inside is 600 square feet of living space with soaring ceilings and an ensuite bathroom. Each tent relies on solar power (as does the entire resort) and features green-friendly bamboo floors and a sunset-view private deck with Adirondack chairs and a firepit.

Two on-site dining options at the Lodge Restaurant and Wild Coast Sushi Bar mean you never have to leave. But we highly recommend you explore the rest of the scenic Big Sur stretch along the Pacific Coast Highway of northern California.
