Guy Line Rope Set | Set of 14

These are the same beefy guy line ropes that come with our bell tents. If you need a replacement set or want a backup, grab these.

  • Thick 6mm (1/4") rope that's easy to grip and holds tension
  • Reflective, so you're less likely to trip over them at night
  • UV resistant for long stretches in the sun
  • Durable metal tensioners on every rope for quick adjustments
  • 14 ropes per set: a full set for a 6M (19') bell tent, with spares left over for a 5M (16') or 4M (13') bell tent

Fits 4M, 5M and 6M bell tents, and works just as well beyond the tent. Use them to pitch tarps, awnings, fly covers, shade sails and canopies, or anywhere you need a strong, adjustable line.

What Guy Lines Do

Guy lines hold your bell tent's shape. They pull the walls and roof tight, so the canvas sheds rain, stands up to wind and doesn't sag. A well-pitched, evenly tensioned tent is much stronger than a loose one, so your guy lines are some of the most important parts of your setup.

How to Use Guy Lines on a Bell Tent

  1. Attach each line to its guy line point on the tent.
  2. Run each line straight out in line with the tent's seam, so the pull is even all the way around.
  3. Stake it with the stake angled away from the tent, driven in firmly.
  4. Tension evenly. Slide the metal tensioner to snug each line. Work around the tent so no single line is doing all the work.
  5. Check them often. Cotton canvas tightens when it gets wet and relaxes as it dries, so loosen your lines a little when rain starts and re-tighten once the tent dries out. Check them again before a windy night.

Guy Line FAQs

Will this set work on my 4M or 5M bell tent?

Yes. A 5M (16') bell tent uses 12 guy lines and a 4M (13') uses fewer, so the 14-rope set covers your tent with spares to keep in your kit.

Can I use these for things other than a tent?

Absolutely. They work well for tarps, awnings, shade sails, canopies and fly covers. The metal tensioners make any line quick to tighten and adjust.

Will these fit a bell tent from another brand?

Usually, yes. Count the guy line points on your tent. This set covers up to 14.

Are stakes included?

No, this set is ropes and tensioners only.
